Conner finishes his 1st year of Uni!

We are delighted to be working with Conner Macmillan, who is the creator behind 3 new characters #BigG, #Maple & #Thulani. Last year we announced our partnership, and Connor has been helping us shine a light on some interesting things ... we think need a gentle splash of positive disruption.

Topics we will be exploring in our scripts include, but are not limited to:

Technology Integration

Embracing emerging technologies such as BIM, IoT, and AI can significantly impact value for money and time in construction procurement. These technologies automate tasks, optimize decision-making, and enhance overall efficiency, leading to cost savings and reduced project timelines.

Collaboration and Communication

Improving collaboration and communication among project stakeholders can streamline the procurement process, reduce delays, and enhance project outcomes. Clear and effective communication ensures that all parties are aligned, minimizing misunderstandings and rework, thus saving time and optimizing resources.

Performance-Based Contracts

Shifting from traditional fixed-price contracts to performance-based contracts incentivizes contractors and suppliers to deliver higher-quality work, meet project objectives, and achieve greater value for money. This approach encourages efficiency and innovation, as contractors are motivated to perform at their best to earn incentives or bonuses.

Sustainable Materials

Disrupting the procurement process to prioritize the use of sustainable materials can have a significant impact on both value for money and time. While sustainable materials may have higher upfront costs, they often offer long-term savings in terms of energy efficiency, reduced maintenance, and improved durability. Additionally, using sustainable materials can help meet regulatory requirements and enhance the overall reputation of a project.

Supplier Diversity

Encouraging a more diverse pool of suppliers in construction procurement not only promotes inclusivity but also drives competition and innovation. Increased competition among suppliers can lead to more competitive pricing, better quality products, and improved delivery times, resulting in better value for money and reduced project timelines.

These five topics have the potential to make a substantial impact in terms of value for money and time in construction procurement by leveraging technology, promoting collaboration, incentivizing performance, prioritizing sustainability, and encouraging supplier diversity. We hope to add a bit of fun by the characters acting out some typical scenes that highlight and resonate with a diverse audience across the construction spectrum. We also hope by using the medium of cartoons, we can simplify some of the complexity and add a little light hearted fun!
